Introduction to the E11 Index™


The E-11 Index™ is comprised of eleven survey items that are considered core items for any survey we conduct. These items were identified based on their relationship with outcome items related to perceived intent to stay, overall job satisfaction and experience with the company and commitment to the organization.


BHI Methodology- BHI client survey data collected over a five-year period was analyzed to determine which items had the strongest relationship with desirable outcomes. Using correlation and regression analysis, 11 items were identified as being the best indicators and predictors of desired outcomes.

Tailored to the Audience– Recognizing there are key differences in expectations between Manager/Professional and Hourly/Non-Exempt employees, the E-11 items are tailored for these groups.

The results of our analyses were validated against best practice research related to employee engagement, motivation and job satisfaction to ensure comprehensive coverage in the following critical areas of an employee's life cycle:
