SAFE™ Security Assessment

SAFE™ (Security Assessment For Employees) is a customized assessment tool designed to predict an applicant's propensity towards and likelihood to engage in counter-productive workplace behaviors. Based on an extensive research process, SAFE™ has been shown to be highly predictive of specific, quantifiable counter-productive behaviors among hourly employees. SAFE™ measures the following areas of counter-productive behavior:

Team Counter-Productivity
Sexual Harassment
Disrespect for Others
Anti-Diversity

Organizational Counter-Productivity
Cash and Product Theft
Unreliability
Alcohol and Drug Abuse

Why is SAFE™ Important?

Organizational Counter-Productivity Cash and Product Theft Unreliability Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Organizations are losing significant revenue and profit due to the counter- productive behaviors of some employees. One study put the cost of such disruptive actions as cash and product theft at $218 per employee annually while other organizations report losses due to theft at $1,000 per week per location. Moreover, counter-productive inclinations among applicants are very difficult to predict using traditional hiring techniques, such as interviewing, and very expensive to assess using methods such as background checks. Clearly, the need exists for an accurate and cost-effective method for assessing and predicting counter-productive tendencies among applicants.

How is SAFE™ Used?

SAFE™ is a short assessment tool used as a part of the hiring process for hourly positions. SAFETM utilizes a variety of non-transparent item types (personality, attitudinal, and bio-data) and is a user-friendly tool for the applicant and manager.

SAFE™ is available in a paper-and-pencil or CD-ROM format that is quickly and easily administered and scored. BHI will work with your organization to select and develop the appropriate criteria and method for scoring SAFE™ as a part of your integrated hiring process.

Creating a Culture of Productive Employees
SAFE™ can increase profits and create a workforce that achieves excellence through honesty, reliability, and customer service.

Steps in creating a SAFE™ workplace:
  • Identify most productive employees from applicant pool. Consistently weed out candidates with high probability of counter-productive behaviors
  • Assess culture, finding opportunities for improvement
  • Develop leadership, training, policies, and systems that promote a culture of productive employees
